Getting Started
When you purchase from our site, your web template is available for immediate download as a zipped file (zip). You will need a zipping utility program to open the file and extract (or install) the contents. We recommend WinZip that you can download and evaluate for free at:
http://www.winzip.com.
The Shopping Cart Download Page:
Once you have completed the purchase process through our shopping cart system, you will be directed to a page that has a link to the downloadable template file. There are instructions on the page to help you proceed.
- Click on the download link to start the process.
- When the File Download dialog box appears, click the Save button. This will open a Save As dialog window.
- Save the zip file to a convenient location on your computer. We recommend saving the file to your desktop. You can always move the file to another location later.
- Once your file has been downloaded, continue the instructions on the screen. You will be directed to a “Thank You” page which gives you further instructions that are relevant to installing your template package.
Our templates are delivered in an easy zipped format. You will receive the zipped file which includes the web template, our getting started page and our license agreement.
- Open the desktop folder and right-click on the zipped file.
- From the menu, select WinZip - Extract to Here.
- Open the unzipped folder and copy the web folder to the location where you normally keep your webs. Typically this is under My Documents/My Webs.
- Now you can open Expression Web/FrontPage and go to File / Open Site.
- Navigate to your new web folder.
- You can now begin working on your new web.
- Don’t forget to save the original zipped file to a floppy disk or other removable media for backup purposes.
