Your web folder contains many files and folders inside. The files and folders shown in the image above are typical of what you will see when looking at your web in “Folder” view.

Root Web: You will probably hear the term “root web” used. This is your main web folder where the index.htm (home page) resides. Typically, all of the web pages will reside inside of the root web folder.

Images folder: This folder contains the images that are used on the various pages. We often include other folders within this folder to make it easier to find what you are looking for.

Includes folder: Include pages are used to hold bits of information, images, or text that are used over and over again on various pages within your site. It’s a very handy feature. We typically add these pages to contain copyright information that is added to the bottom (footer) of each page. We often use a logo or your name here page that contains either our sample image or plain text that you can easily modify to suit the needs of your own site.

Photo Gallery folder: If your web template includes a photo gallery, we will normally place our sample images into a “photogallery” folder.

CSS file: Your template will have a file that ends with the extension css. This file contains the formatting instructions for colors, links, headings, and much more that are used within every page.

NOTE: By keeping your images and other web items neatly organized, you will save a lot of time and energy when it comes to making changes down the road.
